I "found" a big piece of alloy at work and decided to have a go at making some Cole jaws. They are mounted to my Nova Precision Midi. I went out and got a Supernova2 the other day as I was sick of swapping jaws around.

The only thing i paid for on the Cole jaws was the replacement rubber jaws for $20.

Anyway, I'm off to the lathe to see if it works. :2tsup:

P.s if I have to tap another hole im going to scream...

Very nice lookin' Cole Jaws. Are those buttons the Vicmarc buttons? Whatever they are, they look a sight better than the Nova buttons.
Let us know how it works. :)

My mate from work actually got this for me from a truck building factory. They have off cuts about this size all the time. Might be worth asking if you have one close..

G'Day Benji

Great Cole Jaws, must get some of them big red buttons, hate the old black ones on my jaws. If you don't mind where'd you get them?

Cheers

Need some practice at using this chuck. Was using it today on a roughed out piece of black hearted sasa, had a tiny dig in and wore the sasa in the chest. Nice chip out of my knuckles and a nice bruise on chest. :stretcher:

Got straight back on the bike and finished the bowl :wounded1: , very very carefully.

Well Cliff has posted pics showing serious clamping forces at work ... my pref is to use them lightly for finishing.

Good you retrieved the situation. Some lessons come more dearly
