New kid on the block at this end. Found a ML8 lathe and am wondering (it's probably been covered in previous discussion but I am tecnhnologically challenged!!!so don't now how to track it down) if anyone has some user friendly ideas on how to set up a tool rest for outboard turning. Myford has the original set ups but they are a tad pricey.
Anywho thanks Barry

Hi Barry
Here is a recent thread on this forum about freestanding toolrests that may be of some interest to you. There is a few ideas there on making your own.

Check out www.vicmarc.com (http://www.vicmarc.com). for their design for the 175. Not cheap either but could be fairly readily copied. I've used one and it's solid!
