Hey all - just came across this (http://www.peter-andres.com/www_root/gallerie.php?Verzeichnis=galerie/events/veranstaltungen/Weltrekord&Nummer=0#) site. I know one picture of this rather large bowl has been posted on here sometime back, but can't recall a link to these pictures (I certainly haven't seenthem before). For those who haven't seen it it's quite fun.

The pictures speak for themselves even if the language doesn't:U .

The really interesting bit is: how did they mount it? It looks like a sort of faceplate with 8 screws. Could 8 screws in soft wood hold that weight?

8yo wants to know if its a chip bowl! 11yo wants to know if they are going to use shellawax and glow, For myself, how many pairs of underpants?

Wish I could read German

Just had an attempt to translate it myself.

Think it says "fibreglass swimming pool"

Some of the turners doing this bowl need their head read, see how they are sitting/balanced on the banjo swinging arm thingy, just imagine if they over balanced and slipped backwards... do you think the torque of a tractor would stop for a human body... not likely!

:D :) Doubt there's enough salad in this part of the world to fill that thing - not till next rain expected and that's not till mid October - plenty grass around then:U .

Swimming pool looks an option, but then it's waaay too cold for swimming at the moment - only gets to a max of about 24'c during the day with our winter in full swing:p .

I'll trade. Summer dog days are here... 105 F yesterday with a high humidity range. Pant & Sweat is the activity of the day. Lucky for me my shop is in the basement and AC to boot. Too hot to go swimming...

Hi Hickory - that's quite warm - you can keep your summer. Doesn't sound like too much fun.
It gets pretty hot round here when it warms up, but the humidity is always below 30% - mostly below 20% during the days. This makes the heat tolerable - nowt worse than very hot and very humid.
