Has anybody seen, or better yet used, the new X5 2hp series lathes from Delta? I've seen pictures on the Internet, but nothing up close in the stores.

They look nice, and they have the same price tag as the other 1 1/2 hp lathe, ($1,999.99) but they're billed as having many more features, plus a five-year limited warranty.

Just curious. I'm going to buy a lathe in the next few months, and I just don't want to spend the money on a Oneway or Stubby. Since I'm not turning for a living, the return doesn't seem justified in the high-end lathes when there's Delta, Powermatic, and Jet lathes out there that offer high-quality equipment.

Thanks in advance for any input.

No, we don't get to see many Delta lathes in Australia, suggest you try an American bulletin board.
