I dont know if this will work but here goes.

This is a box joint jig that I made out of 6mm alum angle while I was in the metal industry

G'Day,

Do you something like a Gifkin Parallel Router for this?
I was thinking along the same lines but had a brain blow-out attempting to work out the spacing of the fingers,
I'd have to start with trial and error.

OH!! It is for Parallel Finger joints isn't it.

hi ivan,
yes you use it the same as a gifkins jig.
you have to space the fingers the same distance apart as your cutter is wide ie 12.7 mm cutter> fingers & spaces have to be equal distance as well. cutter has to be bottom bearing ie cutter, bearing then shaft.
if you want to make 1 then you can pick up a spare finger board from some body who supplies them 1/2 inch blind d/tail jigs
i think timbecon do them (the jigs that is ) for around $100. dont know how much the replacement boards are though,or you could just use that jig to do finger joints as well as 1/2 blind d/tails, if you can get a cutter to match!
