what are other reasonably priced lathes sutable for bowl turning?

It must be old stock?
The current equivalent is the Nova 1624 (http://www.teknatool.com/products/Lathes/1624/Nova%20_1624.htm) and its cheaper at $1749!(CWS)

Yep and it a brilliant machine that is the lathe I got from Jim. Not one bit of regret she is a ripper. and Jim looks after you great talk to him

if ya got the money, you might as well get it cos they're good machines ( havent used one but seen them used a few times.
the leady lathe is about the only one i can think of for less than 2k. even the CT on is around 2.5k from memory.
