I am looking for a clear woodfiller to fill voids up to 1/4 inch deep. Does anyone have a suggestion?

If you're after really clear filler you're best to go for casting resin like this stuff (http://www.armsmodelit.com.au/ArmsResins.htm) or this stuff (http://www.dickblick.com/zz335/20/). For not so clear, any epoxy will do the trick, though some of them claim to be 'clear'.

There are available clear epoxy resins, generally used for encapsulating objects or samples

Clear epoxy or polyester resin should be available at craft shops or art supply dealers. Likely small quantities (about 1 pint or so), and somewhat dear.

For larger quantities, check out boat repair shops.
These products generate heat when curing, and large castings may crack due to shrinkage while cooling. A lower-than-specified amount of hardener can alleviate this, but test on some scrap to make sure you have enough hardener to work.

Like Vern (TTIT) says, some "clear" epoxy (i.e. two-part adhesives) may turn yellow over time.

Yes, 2nd Joe's point. 10-15mm thick is as much as I'd go with polyester resin.
