Top work Gil :2tsup:, but I reckon you should try one using the Oak for the roof with the Pear for the house. It should give the roof a thatched look methinks

Good work, Gil. I see you're using those beading tools. :D
Are you making these to sell... or to decorate a Christmas tree? Just curious.

Thanks for the comments y'all:)
DJ, thanks for the idea!
Al, the beads are made with the tools I sent you pics of. My work is mostly for Bunny to decorate with, but some is for sale, including the birdhouses. Keep in mind that I have only made two so far, and I have a lot to learn. They are fun to make!!:)

Gil is your bird house hollowed out??

Toni,
I use a Forstner bit in the tail stock chuck to do most of the hollowing [25.4mm (1") for the base, and 34.925mm (1 3/8") for the roof , then a 7mm (±) scraper to clean up the bottom of each bore. The roof part need not be hollowed past where the base tenon fits into it, but I like to hollow it 2/3 of the way up so the piece is lighter and balanced a bit better.
