I was down at G Fethers & Co in Melbourne today and have sourced some veneer from them which is a little different to the usual pre-glued stuff I get from Consolidated Edgings.

This is a very thin (0.2mm) veneer on a paper backing made in Japan. They guarantee no shrinkage, it is extremely flexible and then finish quality is excellent.

Q: What is the appropriate glue to use on a paper backed veneer like this onto MDF?

Thanks,

Marcus

OK, the veneer is called "SanPly-4" and is made by a company called Hoksan. It seems pretty common in the US but not so here.

So far I have seen advice to use contact adhesive or PVA. Given that I want my clients to be able to apply this with a minimum of tools or accessories would the PVA be OK?
