Johna,

I have the Jet. I like it a lot.
If I had the room I'd go for an 8" machine.

check the alignment of the tables. The cheaper machines are often all over the place. If youfeel like regrinding and aligning, go for the cheaper ones, if not pay the money. But having said that check those three machines carefully, the carbatec ones aren't bottom shelf stuff and may well be fine. Just look carefully. Jet stuff has some of the strictest quality control in the world so you can buy a jet with confidence.

I've recently purchased Carbatec 8" long bed jointer and I'm extremely happy with it.

If you've got the room, the extra 2" is definitely work it long term !

Many a friend has wished they'd gone with 8"

Which Jet table saw did you buy? I've been considering the supersaw, the one with the sliding table.Any opinions?

I bought the JET*JWTS-10LFR

http://www.gregmach.com/equipment_catalogue/saws/tablesaws/images/jwts10lfr.gif

and am extremly happy with it, the only thing i added to it was the Incra miter jig for better accuracy.

The supersaw also looks like a very nice table, but can't realy comment on it as i haven't used it or seen it in the flesh.

But going by what most people say about the jet tablesaws i doubt you could go wrong

Whichever one i get i will be buying the mobile base for it also as i need to park my pride and joy in the garage so it will have to be moved to the side.
I do however have enough room for one so that is not an issue, my only issue is to get something that is accurate and will last me a very very long time

Hovo,
I too have been looking around for JET saws and although I have had a brief look at the ad for Supersaw and although it looks OK it is not really what we are after and I don't know if I really like it yet some of the people who have them say they are good.
The saw we would love to get and have been looking at is a cabinet type jet*jwcs-10lfr yet am having trouble locating them Gregorys Machinery don't have them in stock anymore and won't be getting them back in either.
Have a look at this thread it may help with your decision.

Just a thought, will a mobile base handle the weight of an 8" machine?

I have my 6" on a mobile base with no probs but I think that an 8" machine, especially a long bed one, would weigh considerably more.

i'm sure it will take the weight as there are 2 version of mobile bases take up to 600lbs and then there is the industrial one which can take up to 1,200lbs..

shouldn't be a problem :D
