Greetings all.

I have the New Escoulen eccentric chuck, my Nova DVR has a US spec 1 1/4" spindle thread on it, the chuck I got, from Jean-Francois when he was here in Japan, is a 33 x 3.5 Euro spec thread. I got an adapter from Craft Supplies USA, so I'm good to go.

A buddy here in Japan has a Vicmarc VL300 short bed lathe, he would really like the same chuck, but his lathe has a 30 x 3.5 spindle size.... :?

We have been told by the importer that this is the "Australian" standard spindle thread size, is that true?

Does anyone know is someone sells a 30 x 3.5 to 33 x 3.5 or 30 x 3.5 to 1 1/4" sized adapter?

The Escoulen chuck only comes in 33x3.5 or 1 1/4" spindle size.

If you guys could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers! :2tsup:

Stu the spindle adapter can be made to any male-female sizes.

Yes the standard thread in Australia is 30 x 3.5mm.
Teknatool went against the norm because of the american market. They would not take a metric threaded lathe so it was easier for them to produce one thread and make everyone change.

They cost $50.00 inclusive of GST

They usually take 3-4 weeks to make.
