Here is a sample of of work in my 6th month as a turner.

Cypress bowl with curved top. (Or hollow form with a huge entry hole:)) 6"x3"

Sycamore bowl. 7"x3", 1/4" wall

Persimmon hollow form. 3" tall

Persimmon lidded box. 4" tall

Sycamore NE bowl. 5"x21/2", 3/16" wall

Birch hollow form. 6" tall. +/-1/4" wall

Persimmon NE bowl. 6"x3"

All critiques warmly welcomed.

And many thanks for the invaluable help and advice I have found here. This site is a gold mine:!

If I could have my time over again I reckon I wouldn't mind doing a turning apprenticeship. Very nice work Martin :2tsup: - your finishes look really well done - reckon your boss should be happy with ya!

Ahem!!! Thanks for the compliment TTIT, but actually I have just taken up turning after retirement:U . But my wife is pleased, so that comes pretty close.

(I guess new users to the site are classified automatically as apprentices.)

They'd be well done at 12 months or more. I especially like the birch ball. Maybe next you should make a beech ball? Sorta wish I hadn't said that, but this place grows on you.
