G'day I am going up to Brisbane for a few days on family business. Does anyone know where I can see some boats while I'm up there. Going up Wed. Back on Sat. So not much time as I have to visit Family, but that might get boring. They wont read this. I hope. I am gunna try to get to see Ross Livinston workshop up in Esk. I am taking a camera.

The Maritime Museum in Brissie (Brisso) is pretty good I think.

Anyone from the QLD wooden boat association here? Don't be shy! You guys are full of good ideas.

I got up to Qld and Ross made time to let me see his workshops and boats.

His work is very neat and clean.

He had I think, nine boats.

The boats were all ages, some getting built, some 20 years and more old

Ballast !!
I knew there was something I wanted to do while driving through Esk the other week. Mind was too busy trying to figure out how to contact a couple of old friends & forgot all about it.

Hi Fellas,

I know this thread is done and dusted, but if you are back in Brissie in September, there will be a display of as many of the member's boats as they can carry (many have multiple boats) in the grounds of the Maritime Museum. Indications are that the number should exceed 50.

The larger boats are not so certain and need permission from the Port of Brisbane and also agreement to slow those City Cats.

There will also be a Marine 'Garage Sale' (or is it 'swap meet') where you take along your junk, sell it and then fill your trailer with someone else's.

There will also be the Association's project boats- a classic 18'skiff and a Flying Dutchman being restored and also the 10' clinker dinghy being made by members piece by piece, to eventually be united into a whole traditional boat.
