Scooner,
Welcome to the site. Never heard of it but most timbers can be turned.

Species and varieties:
Tecoma 'Burnt-Out' (Orange Trumpet Flower)
Tecoma stans (Yellow Bells, Yellow Trumpet Flowers)
Tecoma adenophylla aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma australis aka Pandorea pandorana (Spearwood Bush, Wonga Wonga Vine)
Tecoma avellanedae aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma capensis aka Tecomaria capensis (Cape Honeysuckle)
Tecoma chrysotricha aka Tabebuia chrysotricha (Golden Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma eximia aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma grandis aka Tabebuia chrysotricha (Golden Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma impetiginosa aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma integra aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma ipe aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma jasminoides aka Pandorea jasminoides (Bower Vine)
Tecoma obtusata aka Tabebuia chrysotricha (Golden Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma pedicellata aka Tabebuia chrysotricha (Golden Trumpet Tree)
Tecoma radicans aka Campsis radicans (Trumpet Creeper, Trumpet Vine)
Tecoma ricasoliana aka Podranea ricasoliana (Pink Trumpet Vine)

Many of 'em are considered weeds in one area or another, most look quite attractive when flowering.

AFAICT, none are toxic enough that I'd say don't turn them, although I wouldn't use any for items that'll hold food. I've no idea how well they turn or how the grain comes up... but I expect we'll be finding out soonish, eh? :;
