I DID A SEARCH I PROMISE

Whilst looking for info to tune my old plane, I did a couple of searches, and I stumbled upon this site

I thought it looked simple to follow,(very important for me) yet from what I have gleaned thus far it covered all I need to know.

Hope this helps others in my predicament, and maybe someone who knows more on the subject could give it the thumbs up or otherwise.

Also take a look at:
http://www.woodcentral.com/cgi-bin/readarticle.pl?dir=handtools&file=articles_120.shtml

and at: http://www.rexmill.com/ - especially 'Hand Planes 101'.

Thanks for the reply DAryl, after posting the thread I stumbled upon the woodcentral site. The rexmill one is a newby to me though.
I guess they all say basically the same thing
Get everything flat & square, but be careful not to go overboard flatting and squaring lest you have no plane left!
