hi ppl,
im building a wooden tredle lathe for my year 12 design & tech project, probably out of tassie blackwood..
does anyone know where i could get some blackwood in structural sizes, ie. 3" x 3" in sydney? im not sure whether anagote has these sizes.
any other tips on construction would be appreciated

Hi Mitch,
good luck with your project. My son just finished year 12 and his major project was selected for exhibition at the Working with Wood Show later in the year. He used black walnut and birdseye maple from Anagote.

Try calling Anagote 9558-8444 or Trend Timbers http://www.trendtimbers.com.au/ . Trend definitely have blackwood and Anagote probably. But they have a whole range of timbers and you may find something just as good cheaper or better for your purpose.
