Segmented platter

Segmented platter, 300mm in diameter, made of merenti and panga panga (center and rim)
Panga panga is African hardwood, got it from my fishing mate a while ago, it's familiar with wenge, hard as a rock, so you need sharp tools to turn this stuff.
Wall thickness 10mm. Finished with two layers Glitsa and polished.

Not usually a fan of segmented work but I like that one. Sort of got a Japanese look to it.

Very handsome design, Ad. The extra grooves on the bottom give it more pizzazz. (Also an easy way to hide turning marks, but why am I admitting it?)

Just a wee suggestion for platters 2.0: Offsetting the segment boundaries, as in brickwork running bond, will exploit more robust integrity. This is only a structural consideration. But it also allows less perfect alignment for assembly.
