Have any of you had a go at making the dovetail jig from the Taunton book on Jigs and Accessories?

I bought the book the other day at Borders and have already found it very valuable. There is a great article on “Stow-Away Router Table”, made it in one hour and have found it fantastic. Simple, easy to construct and does the job beautifully without occupying valuable floor space.

The dovetail jig that they have is one that you make yourself and can be as wide as you like and here is a short bit from the start of the article: ”Shop built from scraps, these unusual jigs, one for the tails and one for the pins, cut tight fitting through dovetails, a task that even many commercial jigs can't handle. Designed for router dovetails for large carcase construction, the jigs can be built in less than two hours for just pennies.”

It looks good, I will have to get a larger dovetail bit and have a go.

Hi
Let us know how you go, I always admire hand done dovetails, but if I could do em by machine cheaply even better.
