just thought i would mention here . when i built my lathe way way back i did some research first and found that there was a lot of add ons made to suit woodfast lathes so i made my shaft the same as theirs which was i think from memory 1'' --10 tpi
so i can buy anything that fits a woodfast and it will fit mine .
started with a number 2 morse taper blank shaft then cut the thread to suit so i have the morse taper hollow as well and it will take a drill chuck or morse taper drill bits

edit ( well i think its number 2 , long time since i did it and or used it )

This is the one I made (http://www.woodworkforums.com/showpost.php?p=223456&postcount=5) about 10 years ago; it is about to get an upgrade with a bigger motor & an EVS.

ok just ducked up to the shed in the dark climbed over every thing in me thongs and snapped a pic from the only angle i could get of the headstock .
when i drag it out of there some time this week i hope if i can get out of the tractor long enough ( we have 350 acres of hay on the ground at the moment ) i will clean it up and get some more pics of the speed change setup and so on .
the shaft is threaded both ends and the motor has forward and rev switch 1HP i think so i can turn out board as well

I wonder how many model "T" Ford con rods I can find.
Just shows that nothing is new with the cam lock tail stock.
