I built this piece to accommodate our growing CD and DVD collection. Woods used are red oak, cherry ply side panels and walnut inlay accents. This was my first large scale fine woodworking project and included a hand full of firsts for me at the time. Firsts include arched top and crown molding, Fluted styles, inset finger grab pulls, bread board ends and inlaid accents. Oops almost forgot bracket feet. The hutch holds 425 DVD’s and the drawers hold a whopping 840 CD’s nested in holding trays.

Proportionally I have had comments that the piece is too big. My goal was to get the maximum amount of CD and DVD storage for the intended location of the piece.

I like it Dewayne.

How did you get the drawer fronts on so neatly?

Jeff

The drawer fronts have a rabbit that nests in each face frame opening. A few shims and some double stick carpet tape aligns and temporarily locates the drawer face, then attach with screws from inside.

Dewayne,

next time you do it, take some snaps at each stage! I always seem to have problems with kitchen / workshop drawer fronts, so any instruction would be useful.

thanks Jeff
