OK, its not directly a Triton matter, but I know there are some UK members on this forum, and I think I have a better chance of a sensable answer here ;-)

What is 'Cascamite' glue? I know its not a perquisite of a Bishop - Is it the equivalent of a type I or II PVA? 2 part Epoxy? Liquid hide glue?

I keep coming across it in UK woodworking books & mags, but there is never any susbstitute given, so I am at a loss as to what it is.

Thanks in advance

Cascamite was the name of a general purpose powdered resin glue suitable for all kinds of applications. It is now marketed as Extramite and I think it is made by Humbrol.

It is mixed to a creamy consistency using water and makes pretty good bonds.

Use Google and search for Extramite.

Hope this helps!

Many thanks.

Looks like it is a generic Urea-formaldehyde glue, makes thinks easier.

Cascamite is the trade name for a urea-formaldehyde glue....it was very popular in the 1960's.

For the Aussies on here: It is not related to Vegemite and not marketed by Dick Smith.
