Check out the advice on my post "Kitchen Reno 80s" a few posts ago.

The advice was useful.

Cheers

some questions:

what general style/period are you looking to achieve?
what surface materials appeal?
timber or painted doors?
the size of the area?
any plans available of the area, inc doorways/windows and aspect?
whats your flooring and finish?

These few questions will help others to advise - not sure where you are but for inspiration, there are a bunch of very average aussie kitchen magazines available..... if you want to achieve a "warm country antique" style, I can recommend literally hundreds of publications

cheers
