Would anybody happen to know at what angle jointer blades are ground at. I am just finishing off a jig similar to the Veritas one for honing the edge on blades and am unsure of the angle at whish they should be ground. Mine seem to be about 40 deg which seems awfully steep to me. I am unable to find anything in the instruction manual other than send them off to a saw doctor.
Will post some pics of the jig when it is complete for those that are interested.

Morry,
I'm not sure on the angle that they're meant to be but perhaps you're thinking the angle looks steep because you're not taking into account that the blades are not radiating out from the axis but are at a tangent. If the blades were ok as they are (besides being blunt) it's probably best to regrind them to the same angle.
