Has anyone had any dealings with this type of tool.
Looks pretty impressive with a double ended tool.

This thread (http://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=80838) should explain it all for you :;

It's a reasonably well made Oland Tool. You just gotta make your own handle. I've made several of them. They work well. :D

in the light of my interest in the subject matter you should do your due diligence as to whether this is the one for you.

Have been using nothing else for quite some time. IMHO this is the best overall tool that a turner can have for roughing outside and inside , finishing and detailing. Mine cost me about $6 each.

One of the successes of this tool is that the HSS is harder than the conventional HSS tooling we buy from just about any other source.

Note you can bend your HSS gouges [ I know I have bent one of mine :C ]or even file them. With these tips you have no chance, along with the fact you can get a razor sharp edge for those fine cuts.
