Hi all, I know it sounds like I'm on the wrong forum completely but my niece has just started calistenics and they use woodturned display clubs for some routines. When I saw them the other day I figured they would be a breeze to turn so I grabbed one and was instantly suprised by the weight. They were so light. The wood was close grained, light in colour, maybe a little darker than honey. Seemed very strong for it's weight. If anyone out there has any idea what it would be please tell. I'd love to suprise her with a set. Ta in advance... John.

Possibly Jellutong.

Thanks , checked out somepicks of Jellutong and it certainly looks like a winner. In its details page the weight looks on the light side too. Next step is to grab a sample from my friendly neighbourhood timber store.
