All,

I found two interesting articles on the "Oneida Air" site in the US. These guys make very, very good Cyclone D/C's and have done their research. These are both fairly short and I think a must read.

This first one is things you should know before getting a Shop Air Filters

The second is why you should look at using 6"/150mm Ducts rather than 4"/100mm - very well explained imho.

Thanks Gumby (I thought I remember he was green and all rubbery) and Scooter for the replies. Seem to work much better. However, while adjusting the cyclone, the pipe elbow I was using for the inlet came apart :o from the top (ex-chlorine bucket). Looks like bathroom silicon doesnt stick at all to plastic. Tried some gap sealant :D- that's all I have in the garage earlier last night. If it doesnt work then I'll have to get some ducting tape tomorrow.

Al2,

Get some Gutter Flashing Tape - this is what I have used to seal the joints. Not pretty on the outside but seals up the joints perfectly and will not come off. You can see pics of the tape on my cyclones on my site.

Cheers,
