Hi all,
I have just started to mount my TL1000 onto my work bench.
When I went to mount the motor, I found that the plate steel bracket that the motor sits on was flimsy and would twist. Would beefing up the mounting plate before fitting be a wise move. Or does it make no difference.
Cheers

Beef it up if your not happy and do it now, later it will be a PITA.

Thanks for the replies,
was worried that the flex in the mount would cause some vibration.

Doc - went with 1/4" plate on mine. No flex and it added extra weight.

was just thinking how to retention the belt , could you use a hand brake mechanism out of a car ( old holden ) for quicker speed changes ,just the cable pulling the mount down , just a thought

Even just a simple catch to hold the motor off the belt during a belt change would be handy. :)

Over-centre load binder? DIY in plywood, with the middle part long enough to prevent loading in the down position. Or, two sticks with a snap latch.
