Hi, I just registered here. Not made any models yet and I have a few questions. When making the main body of a vehicle, from pictures, not plans. Do you bandsaw or scrollsaw the shape out of a solid block or is the body made up of lots of different parts? I want to make a scale model of a Toyota hilux surf truck and I have reference pictures and blueprints of the car, so now its just a case of working out the best way to begin.

i use what i think is the best way to do the job, wether it be drilling ,scrolling, bandsaw, grinding or filling. So its really up to you what you feel best doing.Have a play then youll find which is best way to do.

cheers
