Have just finished a set of the above and finished them with Shellawax on the outside,what do I seal the insides with that will not affect the products ....( Salt and pepper) that are put in them.

If the wood was properly cured in the first place: nothing. :)

Same here. It's cheap and quick. Not quite as good as a lathe bed gap but close.

Course if you've used a toxic wood ....

I have never put anything inside either. Salt is a good wood preserver and pepper is just pepper. Perhaps if you use something aromatic like camphor then a sealer of some kind could help.
