I like the common Japanese bowl but some are a bit too arty for my taste. I always assumed the idea of Japanese style was to keep it honest and functional.

Thanks Hughie.

Some fine work there. Though the Australian contributions leave me cold.

Wish we had something like the AAW here in Oz.

Wish we had something like the AAW here in Oz.

Too bad the initials are already spoken for.:-

But, I just counted 58 AAW members in Australia, and there's a "Local Chapter" entitled "Moorooduc Plains Woodturners" serving Frankston, Mt Eliza, VIC - E side of Port Philip Bay from my copy of Geographica. Contact info here: https://www.woodturner.org/ - select "Find a Local Chapter" from the menu on the left.

Well I'll be damned; gotta hear from a seppo that the AAW has a chapter in Oz. Thanks Joe. Now we just need something like the AAW itself.

And right down the road for you too, Ern (sort of). Gil Jones and his Bainbridge GA mob carpool to our meetings in Tallahassee - about an hour each way, not counting refreshment stops AFAIK.

Cheers,
Joe

Joe, it's an active central body I was admiring in the AAW. We have no shortage of clubs.

Some wonderful work there!
I am continually astounded that the mind sees such difference in similarity.

Some nice stuff in there.. along with the truly odd :D

Still, I'd be happy if I had the skill to make any of it!

Thanks for the read!
