Both good enough value, especially the Nova.

Both good enough value, especially the Nova.

Wouldn't pay any more than $1200 for the Woodfast, and only that because of the two chucks.

I bought the Nova, couldn't resist it. I've replaced the bearings in the headstock and motor, disassembled cleaned and repainted. It is now running a treat. I think I'll make a new stand in due course but for now I'd like to get back to turning!

$500 acc to ebay. Bargain.

That's right, plus about $50 for the bearings and the usual dramas getting the old ones out. The switch is from my dusty which is going outside (when I get round to making a cover) so it doesn't want a magnetic switch.

It look a million dollars with a quick paint job and a decent photo. Perhaps if the ebay seller put in a bit more of an effort they would have made more money on the sale.

Good buy anyway!

Congrats on a good score :2tsup:

I reckon the fact that it's called a "Teknatool Nov 3000 Wood Lathe" in the title hurt them - anyone searching on "Nova" with the default search wouldn't find it... I made that mistake once and it killed the auction.

Looks heaps nicer now than on ebay... Nice one!

Cheers,
