Abstract Dancer
Thought I have a go at an abstract carving which is something I haven't attempted before, gone for a fairly simple design first up and enjoyed the challenge, will probably do another harder design sometime down the track. I had one long thin piece of Huon that I didn't Know what to do with so I cut it into 4 and glued it to make this, the base is WRC. Have put a few stage photo's as well.

Very thoughtful placement of the glue lines.
I like the "suggestive" nature of the form as usual. To have even included a head would have seemed excessive!

Thanks RV, I suppose if you look front on you could imagine a head tilted right back but as you say, not required. I was a little concerned how the glue lines would look but I'm pleased how it turned out, I'll probably try another abstract down the track.

Nice, perfectly captured , why say any more when you can capture the whole spirit of a subject with such economy.
