Thread: Adjustable log holder

I don't have the answer to the original question, but in woodchopping competitions, 250-300mm logs are fixed to stands, verically, held at the bottom, and hit very hard by very big men with very sharp axes, repeatedly. These would seem to do the job you need, and they are pretty quickly changed over (the logs, between comps). If you find out how they work, you should be home and hosed.

Out in the bush today. Western red cedar log chunk weathered silver gray. 60cm x 400cm and the inner 30cm is open/punk rotten. The rot is typical of WRC. I need a log holder to stabilize this thing for adze/chain saw, etc rough carving.
OTOH, I may just whack the thing into 4 bolts, hog out the rot and haul it home to think about it.
Ah, TermiMonster. of course. Didn't think of those guys. We have loggers' sports days 3 blocks down the street.
