    Default Blade protection

    <HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #fcfffd; COLOR: #fcfffd" SIZE=1>
    If you are a new carver this is a cheap and easy way to protect the blades on you carving knives. Just a small binder clip with a small piece of leather. I put honing oil in the leather. That keeps the leather flexible. The clip also keeps the knife from rolling around on a table or when put away.

    I've been using hose pieces to guard my chisel edges, I'll add the leather and oil and see how it goes! Cheers for the tip

    Yep, good tip CV,
    could you maybe glue the leather to the clip so they can be fitted one handed?

    what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

    You could. I have found that because I do not have to open the clip but just a small amount to get the blade out that the leather stays in place . Most of the time.
