carvers box
Hey all been working on this
As I carve around ie, Club, Shows and mates
I have had it with crap tool boxs
And that my line up of tools is getting bigger by the week
( Was down to 60 )
(But then the tool sale and mum brining my other ones back from nz back to around 200 or more by end of the month)
so I made this just to take the tools I need for the job
old wood wine box I got from dads work seems like they have alot so might be on to a good thing
The magnet strips I got from a place I use to get my chef knives from
the inside I lined a camping mat with some black velvet so my tools will not get knocked around
Im w8ing on more of the brass corner things for the other corners
holds around 35
ps spelling is so bad today
plz tell me what you thinkDANGER!!!!I'm Dyslexic Spelling may offend!!!!!

Hi NZ
Great looking chisel box, wish I had one like that.
Tell me, do lots of chisels make you a better carver or is it that he who has the most when he dies WINS.
Regards.

Looks like a good box to keep your chisels organised and to travel with to me but the one you make yourself will feel better don't you reckon?
Do those magnetic strips really hold the tools down well?
I thought you were trimming down your collection of chisels, seems now you have a change of heart, anyway as long as it keeps you carving happy

I like the tool box. There is a need you came up a soluation.
I would like to add something, if you have not already thought of this. Use a piece of cloth between the two side when closed.

Nice setup nz
just wondering though a while ago I bought a couple of 2nd hand chisels at a garage sale and they were magnetised.
Everytime I'd sharpen them they would collect grinding wheel filings which would rust if I didn't clean them off. wondering if those strips will eventually magnetise them? or if it really matters?
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

That's the way to go NZ.
Dad used to bring home boxes from work. They were beautifully made finger jointed dynamite boxes. Got used for all sorts of purposes.
