I have some woods which I acquired many years ago which MAY be suitable for relief carving.
Most is Kauri. How suitable or appealing is it for wood carving?
It seems to have a uniform even texture without pronounced growth rings or hardness variations and is not too hard.

Comments invited from carvers before I post some for sale here or advertise it elsewhere.
They include Kauri blocks (4-5 large), a Kauri slab (ex church pew) and a slab of what I think is a tropical wood (unknown id)
Any comments re size, price, quality requirements etc are most welcome. Thank you.
