    G'day Roger

    Mate that is great.

You chainsaw carvers amaze me. I am happy just to chop a piece of wood for the fire without taking a leg off let alone trying something like that with a chainsaw.

    Keep up the nice work

    Cheers

    Grant

    Nice piece, well done.
I take it that the heart is still in the timber, will that cause any cracking problems later on.

Hi schaf cracking shouldn't be a problem if maintenace is keep up to the piece. Also you can put a relief in it to stop this problem.

Hi Rodger, Love the work! Just wondering what type of "relief" do you put in the carving to stop cracking? What other maintenance will protect the carving?

Hi carvin' mark a relief cut is put in the sculpture to allow the timber to expand & contract.By maintenance i mean regular applications of oil when needed.

I like it. From a distance it does look the goods. But then again from a distance is all I want to be from a bear.
