    Default DIY carving tools

Got fed up with the dowling & odd bits of broom handle on my whittling tools so while in a handle making mood turned up these.

Also dumped the old cigar box container and made a pig-skin tool roll.
The business ends of the chisels are carbon steel, mostly old needle files ground to suit.
Holidays are a good time for whittling, in a couple of weeks I should be chipping away in the French countryside with a glass of decent red close to hand

Tried to pick some woods with interesting figure, there is Plum, Box burr, Cherry, Amarillo, Rosewood, Yew & a branch from my neighbour's cotoneaster that leaned a bit too far into my yard. One thing about handles is that you can use small branch stuff.
The one with the face is a bit of lamb leg bone that was cooked on a scout camp fire more years ago than I care to think about.
