    Default The finished Flipper

I know painting timber can be polarising but the deed is done,
2 coats of spray putty/filler, 2 coats of primer, 5 coats of colour and 5 coats of clear topcoat automotive acrylic followed by wet and dry and buffing compound.
That is what the client was expecting.

    Thanks Simplicity.
Yep, past lives eh? Use to have a pair of "Voight" flippers as a kid. Nearly getting drowned in a rip on Narrabeen beach kinda put me off body surfing for good.
As for the panel beating and sand,sand,sand.....not much different to woodwork really.

Good one Artful. I'm one of those who prefer not to paint wood or at least not to do so in such a way that hides the fact the piece is made of wood. Having said that, sometimes designs just aren't finished unless they are painted. This is probably one of those time. Customer expectations play a pretty big role here too. Anyway, it looks a treat, well done.

This time around, the paint was critical to make a believable flipper.
You brought it off, the "wet-look" and all.

Pretty sure it was the sanding, sanding, sanding thing he was talking about there Tonto. No one in their right mind would wear a high heel flipper let alone make one.
