Giant Galapagos Tortoise
Just finished chainsaw and sandpaper life sized Galapagos tortoise. Here's some wips and stuff...

Thanks people!
Henrietta (clients' name for the tortoise) was a commission....very specific measurements provided. Finally convinced them that it would be too heavy to move in one piece. ( L -1.5m x H -1.2m x W - 1m )
I wouldn't take something like this on for myself.. That's the bonus of doing pieces for others I guess, you find yourself solving all sorts of problems that you'd probably never get intro on your own. I'm amazed at being able to get such a good join with a chainsaw!
If you look closely at the left hand side of the shell (from the front) you may notice that the whole upper side was added in ( a quarter log and expanding pollyujrethane glue ) Both of these "learnings" will be handy in the future.

Anyone know anybody with a cheap van for sale in Melbourne? Hiace or similar long wheel base...very transport challenged right now and got carvings to do!!!
