Started this recently, loosely based on seeds and sea creatures

Liking what I see here Iggy.
That is some really special Huon there, bit of jealousy there, guess it's hard to find grain so nice even when you are so close to the source.
I particularly like the way you are exploiting the run of the grain. Good work
    Cheers, Ian

I like that very much. The fluted edges and the flow of it make me think 'ocean + oyster'. There has to be a pearl in it!
What's the size & finish? Did the wood color change much?

The piece is about 400/450 mm long, the sap wood is quite pale but the heart wood is yellow and has lots of complex figuring that is not visible in the photo. Still working on sanding, used to hate sanding but am coming to a sort of zen acceptance of it (either that or my brain just shuts down

Looks great Iggy, very much like a Spanish Dancer we see when Scuba diving. Lovely work

..Always the quandary when making those lovely curvy shapes...remembering they need to be sanded ..

Great to hear you are happy with your iPad Iggy, but would it be possible to switch off the Tapatalk (and Apple) advertising blurb in your Tapatalk settings?
