Default Japanese Wood Carving Technique Question

    Hi All,

A few years ago, there was a post on a technique of Japanese Wood Carving (I think) which required indenting the wood and then immersing the piece in hot water to raise the depression. The carving example used was a frog from memory.

I can't find it and the post may have gone into cyberspace by now.

Does anyone know the name of this technique so that I can do a search, or alternately a link to the post?

    George
