    Default Jawhorse carving stand

    I do not know if this will be of any interest to others. I needed a carving stand of some kind. Something that was portable and could be broken down and stored away. I also wanted a place to mount my Jerry Rig vise and holds the tools I am working with. Not long a go I got a Rockwell Jawhorse. I have been very happy with the way it works. It holds block lumber and logs very secure. I came up with this setup using the Jawhorse. I think will work well for me. It makes a very stable carving set up. I thought I would share it.

    Nice set up CV. I have a set of jaws made by Triton. I think they were invented here in Oz. I imagine the design for them has been aquired by Rockwell at some stage.

    Like you, I find them very handy, though I have found that they benefit from being bolted down when the work gets 'rough'. I haven't taken it anywhere near as far as you have though.

    The jaws also make an awsome log holder for cutting firewood (or anything else) with a chainsaw. Its my personal opinion that they ought to be mandatory with every chain saw sale. They make using these saws a much safer proposition.
