Default Maybe not a woodcarving but perhaps a sculpture.

I made this sometime ago from some red gum flooring boards. The final ball is about 245mm diameter. It is called a Truncated Icosahedron and it is a series of hexagons and pentagons held together by rubber bands. A fun project if you have the time. It is a bit of a trick to assemble but patience and an extra pair of hands help.

And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

I like the idea of putting it together on my own before asking someone to help. Maybe my stubborn self is coming out.

How long did this take to make?

Cheerful sculpture. Both the design and the craftsmanship.
