Miniature Cardinal Pair
This is a miniature pair of cardinals. Basswood and acrylic paints. Each measures 3 inches long by 1.6 inches high.

They look great!.
If they are miniature cardinals, how big are cardinals in real life?
Also do the real ones actually sit down like that?.

They're about 22cm long, which I assume includes the tail. If you could get one to sit down on a table, it would probably look like the ones I carved. However, most of the time they are using their legs and feet to perch on a branch and the feet are visible. I carved these as "shelf sitters" for decoration, so no feet and no branch and they are about 1/3 life size.
