I don't understand.

It would be something along these lines that I am planning.This is a small scale mock up that I put together using an old Wright Flyer and a small scale bird casting I had laying around.I had originally thought about doing this as a full scale piece (the bird) and the 1/10th scale Bleriot with the brass ring joining the two together.But right now my thinking is to get it down in 2D first.

Stranger To My Skies. <hr style="color: rgb(133, 130, 101); background-color: rgb(133, 130, 101);" size="1"> This sculpture's storyline will be basically about the bird.What may have been running through his head when he first saw this stranger in his skies.Until this time the peregrine falcon was on top of the food chain,and he knows it, with no competition in sight.The fastest most cunning hunter in the skies.This bird has an air of strength or even arrogance about him.Little did he know at the time that he would become jet engine food himself,someday.
He must have wondered what the hell is this flimsy contraption ,what a joke,is that the best they can do ?
Because the falcon is relating to the machine,from his perspective there is no need for a pilot,so my Bleriot will be pilot less .
I have turned the head of the bird to give it a feeling of relaxed curiosity more than anything.One claw is even tucked up into his chest.Absolutely no fear,why should he be afraid ?

This is the painting that was the inspiration for the bird. I made mine a little rounder and puffed out as he would be on a cold day.(for him a cold day indeed)I tucked the other foot up as I think that it presents better this way.
I haven't yet decided on how to paint it but it won't be in my usual realistic fashion but more like a sculpture in iridescent white or bronze our even gold leaf.
I could even paint it different colors one coat over the other depending on the mood and lighting effects that I want to create.
(Actually the linen colored Bleriot looks pretty good also, with maybe a few brass fittings.)

This is the look of slight curiosity that I want the bird to portray.

Please note : the beak of the bird comes to a sharp point.I will eventually build this out with exopy putty and shape as required.Although the beak is razor sharp he does not kill with his beak but with his claws which are also razor sharp.
Of interest to you frustrated fighter pilots out there is the fact that this bird is natures original fighter pilot who dives out of the sky at tremendous speed to intercept his prey on the wing.He hits his prey with his clenched claw and knocks it out of the sky.He then swoops down below the falling prey and grabs it in midair.One of nature's most breathtaking sights if you ever have the privilege to see it.

This is the model kit that I will be using,pretty much like you see it here.Initially I will do a more realistic version to see how it looks and then go from there.It could easily be spray different colors if need be.

I will have to incorporate some kind of internal support structure for use as both a mobile and a more permanent 3D type stand if I decide to go in that direction eventually.The manufacturer of the kit cut a few corners in the design(especially the wings) but I have a full scale replica available to me if need be.
A lot will depend upon how I decide to build the wings,wood ,fabric, open wings or closed or even solid wings using Tupelo wood.Solid painted wings ,with the appropriate shading between ribs ,would probably be the best choice here using the kit wings as examples for overall shaping.
