How do you sign your Sculptures?
Im debating on how to go about signing my Sculptures and would appreciate some examples on what other sculptors do.
I used to sign with an engraver, but I feel its too crued.
Im swinging towards a metal brand on the base at the moment, but thats very....'unatural'.
A stamp is another way.
So...what do you do"Ya cant trust a pig with watermelon ya know"

Could either of you (or others) please put a photo up of your signature?
I just cant see myself being able to carve it with any resemblance of tidiness...I must admit, I only use the chisel when I have too, (prefer noisy power tools...) so fine work such as a signature may look very messy by me....."Ya cant trust a pig with watermelon ya know"

I felt the need to do something a little different...
my initials are JWM, wanted something I could do "straight line" with a burning tool/paint brush/carving chisel/dremel/foredom, etc. Something that could be done in wood/metal/paint/plastic....you get the idea. The metal "branding iron" works great for wood, all else is left out, Ssssooooo
the first two lines represent the "J", next 4 lines are the "W" last 4 lines are the "M", the W and the M share one leg each...and then the date.."Too old to be this useful, Way too useful to be this old"

I was hoping to find more masonary workers marks as I've always liked the simplicity of the marks but couldn't find what I was after. Here's some other things I found which may light a little imagination in you.

Thanks for that Springwater and mobjack. Ive comtemplated in the past using a symbol as a signature...but I keep getting drawn back to a signature...but maybe a symbol combines with my initials as mobjack has done could work...will try a few out.
Underfoot what do you do?....any possibility of a photo of your signature on your work?"Ya cant trust a pig with watermelon ya know"
