Traditional Santa
This is a simple little traditional Santa Claus with a bag. Carved from basswood, he stands 140mm tall.

There seems to be a tradition in the US. of this kind of thing, your next Christmas seems to start terribly early !
I would guess? that it was brought across by early emmigrants or perhaps developed by them while over there because I am not aware of any parallel European tradition here ?
It's great that you continue it.

Not especially carved for the Christmas Holidays, Mike. I just like to carve Santas. They do sell well from my ETSY shop, but people seem to buy them at just about anytime of year. I just sold one a couple of weeks ago to someone who wanted it for a Christmas present for someone Dec 2017. He had requested a special order item, so I carved it for him. I try to have something available for most of the US holidays, but everyone seems to like Santas and snowmen. The tradition here in the US was started by people emigrating from Europe, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Claus
