Check out the Ricky Swallow Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria Ian potter centre National Gallery of Victoria it's not all wood carving but it should be good. I haven't see it yet but I'm going up after my grad show opens.
    Cheers
    Josh

p.s. I hope MLB stands for Melbourne. If not, please ignore the above.

    Talking Ricky Swallow Exhibition, Melbourne

Visiting Melbourne for a wedding and found time to spend an hour or three at the Ricky Swallow Exhibition, NGV, Federation Square, after reading the comments here.
Amazing work, facinating approach, and some very unusual subjects.
Highly recommended if you are in Melbourne and have >hour, and $7 entry.

    Default Ricky Swallow exhibition, Melb

"Killing Time" was a huge subject of immensely complex detail.
I looked long and hard and came to the conclusion it was 'one piece', except I didn't examine under the table to check the table legs.
    Maybe they were carved separately.
Gallery security were not keen for me to crawl under the table. "No Touching".

Here is a link to eight photographs of "Killing Time":
    Ricky Swallow | Killing Time

The subject I thought most unusual (read bizarre) was the (baby) head in the kraft paper bag. I don't recall the name of that piece.
That would have been very challenging; such clean form, but bizarre never-the-less.

The hoody jacket draped over a squared log, with oyster shell and other items was also a great example of this artists outstanding talent.
