Nice collection and nice display. Look like Pfeils ?
I went the cloth roll route, largely because I have to be portable. I just grab the top roll (Pfeils) and go.
The second roll from top is Henry Taylors and the bottom roll is Marples. Then there’s the mongrel bunch of knives, though I generally avoid knife work due to rsi.
I have a collection of Addis too, but no roll for them as yet. The Addis are the only ones I’m actively looking to add to, though I do love the Henry Taylors. I love the vintage ones, though I don’t treat them as vintages and am quite happy to rehandle them etc.
I’m about to start making new rolls. A while back I bought a large quantity of oiled japara (think Drizabone coat, in fact I suspect the fabric is from the Drizabone factory). I’m thinking that keeping the tools in oilcloth will inadvertently maintain a fine tilth of oil on them, thus preventing rust.
Cheers

I don't have as many tools, nor have I found the need for many more for the type of carving I do, so I settled on an artist's paint box from the local hobby/craft/art supply store. I inserted a few dividers to keep tools separated but that's all I had to do.

Now that is a serious set of tools. Are they Robert 'Mousey' Thompson knock offs behind the tool chest?

I started with 12 Pfeils about 35 years ago and, somehow, now have 90 Pfeils and 15 others. I think I got carried away as I have not used quite a few.
I changed from a small case to rolls, to a larger case, then finally made this chest (Box). The top and bottom drawers are for odds & ends, leaving 8 drawers for 104 tools. I attached a light suitcase trolley to make it easier to move it about.
